Originally from Ireland, Lee fell in love with France… and with Disneyland® Paris. Today she is “Experienced Team Leader” with the Parade team. During her 25 years with the company she has never stopped learning, growing and moving her career in a multitude of directions. She tells us about her unique experience !
I joined Disneyland Paris in 1992, at Disney's Davy Crockett Ranch working for the hotel’s recreation department. Then I moved to the booking and sales desk for the Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show with Mickey and Friends at Disney Village®.
Between 1994 and 1998, I went back to hotel management school in Ireland. When I returned to Disneyland Paris, I was hired as “Duty Manager” in the hotels. After a number of management positions, I have been working, since November 2013 with the Entertainment teams. At the moment I am part of the Parade management team.
I manage the Parade team, which means I ensure, with my colleagues, the support, development and administration of about 440 Entertainment employees. We also prepare, organize and set-up the parade which means working with about a hundred performers every day. Our team also oversees the cavalcades and seasonal parades (Halloween and Christmas, for example).
I came to Paris as a young au pair in 1988 and I loved it. In 1992, when Disneyland Paris held a recruitment fair in Dublin, the only reason I applied was so I could return to Paris! Then, I discovered the Disney Magic and a profession I loved, tourist customer service. So I went back to Ireland to earn a degree in the tourism industry. Back home, I realized how much I missed Disneyland Paris! So I sent in my CV and during a stay in Paris, I went for 4 interviews. Two days after I got back to Ireland, I was offered the job. I thought about it for a few days, packed my bags and moved to France to start a new life…
